How did you book this
trip? This must have cost a fortune!
This trip has been a long time coming.
Two years ago we decided on a single goal: Fly around the
world for Free.
We embarked on a journey of saving up our Aeroplan points as
well as other Airline and Hotel Membership points with feverish effort. Our dream
was to use all possible programs and avenues to gather points to redeem free
flights, free flight upgrades, and free hotel stays while only paying for our
day-to-day purchases and not too much extra.
For the flights, while the end result was definitely not
free since you are forced to pay for fuel surcharges and other fees, we were
able to book Business Class Flights to 7 countries with a value of up to
$15,000 for a tenth of the price.
For hotels, we were able to redeem free hotel stays for
almost half of the trip.
While it wasn’t easy pouncing on promotions to gather those elusive miles, the end result was
definitely worth it, alhamdulilah.
In future we will be discussing the methods of gaining travel miles and hotel points through halal means. Stay tuned!
-Maryam
